I have rescued animals all my life. When I was a child living in Austria I rescued many dogs, cats some wild birds and a few deer.
Animals are very close to my heart and sometimes it is almost unbearable to see the pain and suffering the have to endure.
If I would be granted a wish, I would wish that animal rescue would not be necessary anymore because cruelty and neglect towards animals and people would not exist any longer.

Within the last few months we had a few new additions to our family.
Lolalita
She lived in a wooden box full of garbage and her own feaces. Children told me about her and thanks to the prompt reaction of the local animal control, we got her out. Her owners surrendered her to animal control, which is a death sentence because dogs, which are surrendered by their owner, are uthanized immediately. However I asked the animal control officers to turn her over to me, which they did. I picked her up and we went to the vet, she got her shots and was dewormed. Now we need to get her spayed and she has a second chance on life. I will make sure that she goes to a loving forever home. |
